Benefits to Members
OPMFA members and potential members are poised to
take advantage of the OPMFA's emphasis on benefits
to members. Quarterly networking meetings, seminars,
annual industry wage and benefit surveys, paid student
Summer Technology Camp tuition, and the association's
web site are among the benefits of OPMFA membership.
The
OPMFA is directing its efforts toward national and
international growth; recognition of the precision
metals industry here in Oregon is the goal.
Development
of inter corporate relationships and flexible manufacturing
networks will strengthen the industry not only in
Oregon but around the nation. Through networking
for supplies and project sharing to total quality
management and continuous process improvement training,
the OPMFA will aid in steering the precision metal
industry in Oregon to a world prominent position.
Many
OPMFA companies have already been recognized for their
excellence, and the OPMFA's goal is to ensure excellence
throughout all its member companies. The OPMFA can
achieve this goal by making long-term investments
in employee development and the adoption of new technologies
and establish standards for training.
OPMFA
members also take advantage of Clackamas Community
College's (CCC) annual coordination of the Summer
Technology camp. This is an applied for camp where
students interested in the metals industry are provided
classroom instruction as well as summer employment
with a sponsored company.
